WHAT IS SPRITE ANIMATOR?
Sprite Animator is a lightweight, browser-based tool designed to preview and export frame-by-frame animations. By loading individual sprite frames or a sequence of images, you can instantly visualize how your character or effect will animate in-game, without needing to boot up a full game engine.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Upload Frames
Drop a sequence of images (PNG, GIF, BMP) into the timeline.
2. Adjust Playback
Set the frames-per-second (FPS) and choose a loop mode to see your animation in real-time.
3. Align Sprites
Use the alignment tools to anchor your frames correctly (e.g., bottom-aligned for walking characters).
4. Export
Download your finished animation as an Animated GIF, a WebM video, or a ZIP file containing the processed PNG sequence.
SETTINGS GUIDE
Playback FPS
Controls the speed of the animation by setting how many frames are displayed per second.
Loop Mode
Choose between 'Loop' (repeats endlessly), 'Ping-Pong' (plays forward then backward), or 'Once' (plays a single time and stops).
Align Target
Choose to apply the alignment setting to 'All' frames simultaneously, or fine-tune just the 'Selected' frame.
Alignment Mode
Anchors the image to a specific point on the canvas (e.g., Center, Bottom, Top-Left) to fix jittery positioning.
Format
Select the output format. 'Animated GIF' is great for web sharing, 'WebM Video' provides high-quality video with transparency, and 'PNG Sequence' gives you the raw frames.
